Picking Again

A perfect, steady rain all night long.We are picking raspberries again. They are coming hard and fast, though I have yet to reach any conclusions about what to expect this year. There are patches where the berries are abundant, and then, if you move a short way down the row, there are no bearing canes at all - but abundant new canes. And there are many that should be bearing that have died off. So I vacillate on knowing what to expect from the harvest this year. But we keep picking, and others will come pick, and we just will see what awaits. Meantime, it rained all night, and rain is likely most of today, so picking might be put off until tomorrow. The rain, however, is wonderful.
